Marina started The College Mentor motivated by three fundamental beliefs:

 

Every student, if guided properly, can find a college that will allow him or her to grow and thrive.

Marina considers it her goal to learn as much as possible about each one of her students and, based on that knowledge, to formulate a list of schools that will best serve each student’s aspirations.  She limits the number of students she works with per each admissions cycle in order to thoroughly attend to each student’s unique needs.    

 

Every student has a unique set of skills; properly highlighting these strengths will present the student to the admissions committee in the best possible light.

Together with the student and the parents, Marina creates an individualized plan as early as 9th grade in order to deepen and further develop the student’s skills and help the student stand out from the rest of the applicant pool.

Every student can be in control of the admissions process.

Marina knows that it is possible to alleviate anxiety and hype surrounding admissions by taking a methodical, step-by-step approach.  It is her goal to arm both students and parents with information and knowledge, allowing them to take control over the admissions process.
